Projects In Progress
The Circuit Clerk’s office is continually
striving to find more efficient ways of serving Sangamon
County. The following are projects that are
underway, but not yet operational:
Court Wayfinding System: Video displays located
throughout the Courthouse allowing individuals to
identify their respective courtrooms. In
Process. 2012
Court Triage – Electronic in-processing system
that will result in a more efficient "check-in" process
for all individuals. Under development.
eAppeal – Electronic filing
of appeals with the Appellate Court. Awaiting approval of
the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts and the
Supreme Court.
eCitation – Police officer
writes ticket on computer and sends electronically to
Circuit Clerk. Technology under development. Awaiting
approval of the Administrative Office of the Illinois
Courts.
eFile – Electronic filing
system of new court cases. Allows attorneys and other
clients to file cases from their office or home. Awaiting
approval of the Administrative Office of the Illinois
Courts.
ePlea – Allows defendants to
enter plea of guilty via the internet for minor traffic
offenses. Awaiting approval of the Administrative Office
of the Illinois Courts.
eSignature – Judge’s
signature automatically placed on an order, saving judge
and clerk time. Awaiting approval of the Administrative
Office of the Illinois Courts.
Paperless Court - Improving
electronic communication where paper is no longer
needed. Awaiting approval of
the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts and the
Supreme Court.
Smartphone Application –
Allow customers to search the website on their smartphone. Will be available in 2012.
JExpress Application -
Allows multiple departments within Sangamon County
government to research and view scanned documents,
increasing interdepartmental cooperation. In
Process 2012.
