Tony has over 25 years of professional management experience and has owned several successful businesses during his career. As a small business owner, Tony has a keen understanding of what government should and should not do to foster economic development. In addition, Tony has served his country in the United States Marine Corps and United States Army, and currently serves as a Colonel in the Illinois Army National Guard.
Sangamon County Circuit Clerk
1996-Present
As
Sangamon County Circuit Clerk, Tony has made the office more efficient and
responsive to taxpayers, while reducing the office’s budget and headcount.
Under Tony’s leadership, the office created new sources of revenue for the
county while enhancing services, such as allowing people to apply for
passports. Last year, the office was ranked number one in every category by
the DMG Circuit Clerk Study.
Sangamon County Auditor 1992-1996
During his tenure as Sangamon County
Auditor, Tony implemented a new method of budgeting that saved taxpayers
hundreds of thousands of dollars. He also saved the county money by
adopting a new health care insurance program for employees. Under Tony’s
leadership, the Auditor returned money to the county every year.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Tony has been active in helping the
residents of Springfield through his volunteer efforts with numerous
charities. Last year, he was named “Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser” by
the Capital Area chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

EDUCATION
Tony received his elementary, secondary
and college education right here in Springfield. He earned a Bachelor’s
degree in Communications from Sangamon State University and has completed his Masters degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War
College.
Tony is married to the former Ann Reid and
has three daughters, Maria and Emily and Isabella.
