The Records Division of
the Circuit Clerk's Office maintains the
integrity of court files, controlling
public, litigant and attorney access to
court records. It has four sections:
File Room and File Resource in
Room 405,
Phone Center is on the first floor,
and
Vault in the basement of the Sangamon
County Complex.
The Records Division stores and maintains
records of all cases filed and/or
adjudicated in the Seventh Judicial Circuit,
Sangamon County. Records extend back to the
creation of Sangamon as a county in Illinois
Unless sealed by the courts or statutes,
all records are open to the public and may
be viewed and copied between the hours of
8:30 a.m. and 4:30 pm, Monday through
Friday. Copies cost two dollars for the
first page, fifty cents per page for the
next 29 copies, and twenty-five cents per
page for the remainder. Documents requiring
Certification are four dollars per
certification. A certified Divorce Judgment
is of ten dollars per set.

person, by mail, or fax. Civil document fax
