Circuit Clerk Outreach Programs

| Eighty people at the Springfield Public Library listen to speakers from the
Sangamon County Circuit Clerk's Office,
Springfield Police Department, Sangamon County Sheriff's
Department and the law firm Sgro, Hanrahan, Durr & Rabin, L.L.P.,
talk about the landlord-tenant eviction process. |
We understand how it may be difficult for you to take time off work
to conduct business at the Sangamon County Circuit Clerk’s office.
The Circuit Clerk’s Outreach program provides information and
services in your community during weekend or evening hours.
Individualized, community programs can be arranged.
Division managers of the Circuit Clerk’s office have planned
programs at public libraries, police departments, attorneys’
offices, banks and village halls in Sangamon County. The managers
distribute information, answer questions and explain how to complete
forms for any case that goes through the Circuit Clerk’s office.
The managers also can demonstrate how to search court records, view
the court docket and pay fines.
The Circuit Clerk’s office often partners with other
city, county or state agencies to provide needed services at
Community Outreach events. For instance, we can arrange for
fingerprinting for children and child identification materials for
parents. A few examples are:
Elder Abuse: Speakers from the Circuit Clerk's Office and other
experts explain the rights of senior citizens and how to prevent
elder abuse.
Expungements: Speakers from
the Circuit Clerk's Office and other experts explain options on how
to possibly clear your criminal history and arrest record.
Landlord and Tenant Eviction:
Speakers from the Circuit Clerk's Office and guest
speakers explain your rights and answer your questions.
Passports: Do you need a passport for a group
travel event? The Circuit Clerk’s Office is a federally certified
passport facility. We would be happy to arrange a time for your
group to obtain passports at your meeting or school.
Unclaimed Property: The Circuit Clerk’s
Office has hundreds of unclaimed checks. Learn how to find your
unclaimed property.
Wills and Probate: Speakers from the Circuit Clerk's Office and
other agencies present an informative program to help you understand
the will and probate process.
