Clerk Website
The
Sangamon County Circuit Clerk's Office
serves as the administrative arm of our
court system. The Circuit Clerk is
responsible for keeping the official
record of the court in all proceedings
that come before the 7th
Judicial Circuit. The Circuit Clerk has
financial as well as administrative and
managerial duties. All money owed to the
Court is collected and distributed by
this office.
This office has enjoyed a long history
dating to 1821. This office is one of
the few that can boast that Abraham
Lincoln was one of our customers, and
according to our records, "he was a
pretty good attorney". Since that time,
the Circuit Clerk's office has become
one of the busiest Circuit Clerk's
offices in the State of Illinois.
The employees of the office are just as
proud of our accomplishments today as
our predecessors were. The staff and
management of this office share a common
goal to provide fast, friendly and
accurate service in the most economical
way possible. (We are taxpayers too!)
Every year the volume of work completed
by this office increases. The number of
people that visit our office increases,
as does the number of files that are
processed. I take pride in the fact
that this office has fewer employees
than it did 10 years ago - a feat
accomplished with great employees.

unavailable
due to daily maintenance from the hours of 9:50 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.
Occasionally computer maintenance will occur on weekends or holidays
