Wilhelmina Gunther, Executive Director of the Illinois
Assistive Technology Program commented, "I'm excited
to see that the Sangamon County Circuit Clerk's office,
a local governmental entity, has stepped up to meet
people's needs by adding BrowseAloud to their site.
Hopefully others will follow in their footsteps." |

Technology is an excellent way for
municipal, county, state and federal government to
facilitate full participation for people with
disabilities, but is often overlooked. I’ve tested
the browsealoud feature on the Sangamon County Circuit
Clerk’s website and found it to be an excellent
accessibility tool. Other bodies of government
should follow the example of Tony Libri, and utilize
such technology to make their websites more accessible
for their constituents.

after which he was commissioned Lieutenant Colonel of
the 130th Illinois Infantry. After the capture of
Vicksburg he was on detached duty, holding military
